meet Darren

What Darren thinks about Darren
I didn’t see myself making soap as a kid. I’ve always had the feeling I could be doing something else. But it’s hard to find work without qualifications or experience. I’ve done some acting training. I also volunteer at the The Stuart Low Trust. And attend a philosophy group every weekend. Other than becoming an actor, I’d maybe like to work for a cinema, or in a café.

What the Chief Exec of The Stuart Low Trust Hannah thinks of Darren
Darren has been coming to The Stuart Low Trust for many years. He enjoys our Friday evening events, which include a buffet meal and either a talk or some entertainment. Darren also likes to attend the Sunday afternoon Philosophy discussion group, some Saturday afternoon workshops and our outings. He enjoys singing in our Thursday choir and also enjoys chatting with the many people he has come to know here over the years.

What Darren’s manager Michael thinks of Darren
Darren has loads of potential. The key to getting it out of him is making sure he’s stimulated by what he’s doing. If I’m being honest, I think he’d rather be doing something else because his dream job is to be an actor. He loves to entertain people and is definitely a character.

If you’re not here to hire, you can still help. Every bar of soap and bottle of hand wash we sell helps provide real jobs for people with disabilities, like David in production.
